PhD and PDF Fellowship Program from Embassy of France
Description : I. Sandwich Model Fellowship for Ph.D. Registered Scholars The ?Sandwich Model? is a single-phase multi-disciplinary fellowship scheme for the scholars who are registered for their Ph.D. at an Indian university/institute. The principal aim of this program is to avail an opportunity to the Indian students to carry out part of their research work at French university/institutes, and to familiarize themselves with the current methods of research in France. It is open to Science and Technology scholars registered for doctorate degree in India.

Fellowship Benefits: Monthly stipend of Min. 767/- euros, international travel expenses and health insurance
Duration of Fellowship: 6 to 12 months
Number of Fellowships: 10 scholarships will be provided starting in the month of September of each year
Deadline : 15th January

Eligibility Criteria: ?Degree: Candidate must possess a Bachelor?s and Master?s degree with a first class.
Domicile: Candidate must be an Indian national.
Confirmation of Placement: Candidates must have a recent-dated letter of placement from a French professor/scientist; scholars need a written confirmation that states that their research plan is feasible at the selected French university/institute and that placement for a duration of at least six months to carry out research would be available. The confirmation should not be older than 6 months. Failure to obtain such prior agreement will disqualify the candidate from the competition for this type of fellowship.

Research Experience: Candidates must have one year of research experience
Age Limit: candidates should not be more than 35 years of age on 15 September of the year in which the fellowship begins.
Registration: Candidates must be registered for their Ph.D. degree in India and should have already started working on their thesis. The Doctorate degree is awarded by the India university/institute exclusively.

Application Procedure:
These fellowships are announced once a year by the Embassy of France in India.The announcement of the fellowships is in mid November or early December.

II. Post Doctoral Fellowship The ?Post Doctoral? fellowship is a single-phase multidisciplinary fellowship scheme for a researcher who has completed his/her doctorate. These fellowships are meant for advance research at university and institute in France to enable young scholars, scientist and university teachers to broaden their knowledge in their field, to give them an opportunity to carry out research in, France, and to familiarize themselves with the current methods of research in France.
Candidates who have completed their Ph.D., young scientist, teachers in Indian universities or recognized institutes of university standers, Indian Institutes of Technology and scientists at CSIR institutes, and at research institutes of national importance .
Fellowship Benefits: Monthly stipend of Min. 1300 euros, international travel expenses and health insurance
Duration of Fellowship: 6 months
Number of Fellowships: 7 scholarships will be provided starting in September of each year
Deadline : 15th January

Eligibility Criteria:
Degree: Candidate must possess a Master?s degree with a first class and Ph.D. degree (awarded).
Domicile: Candidate must be an Indian national.

Age Limit: candidates should not be more than 45 years of age on 15 September of the year in which the fellowship begins. Registration: Candidates must have completed Ph.D. degree in India and should have published two research articles in scientific journal.

Application Procedure: These fellowships are announced once a year by the Embassy of France in India.The announcement of the fellowships is in mid November or early December.
