K.C. Mahindra Education Trust - Projects
Description: The K. C. Mahindra Education Trust was formed by late Mr. K. C. Mahindra in the year 1953, with an objective to promote education. It is registered as a public charitable Trust under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950. The K.C. Mahindra Education Trust has undertaken a number of education initiatives, which would make a difference in the lives of deserving students. The Trust promotes education mainly by way of scholarships. In continuation with the legacy of the Trust, project Nanhi Kali was incepted in the year 1996 with a focused approach to provide primary education to the underprivileged Girl Child in India.

1. K.C. Mahindra Scholarships for Post graduate studies abroad :
Interest-free loan scholarships for Post-Graduate studies abroad have been awarded every year since 1956. Announcements offering scholarships appear each year in leading newspapers throughout India. Government and quasi-government officers with creditable academic records, going abroad for specialised qualifications are also eligible to apply for the scholarships. The maximum amount awarded per scholarship is Rs. 95,000/- at present. Preference is given to students who are interested in pursuing advanced studies in subjects for which facilities in India are limited. Preference is also given to students who pursue subjects that are important to India's development, such as Survey and Prospecting of the mineral resources of the country; alternate sources of energy like Solar, Wind and Tidal energy, and Bio-gas Technology for rural areas; Oceanography; Offshore Drilling; Harvesting of ocean wealth, like Sea-bed Mining, Fisheries and Exploration of other oceanic products; Water Management, Agricultural Research and Engineering, Transportation, Economics, Electronics and other emerging areas related to Science and Technology including study of Military, Naval and Aviation Sciences.
Eligibility To Apply For This Scholarship: The candidate is required to possess a First Class Degree or equivalent Diploma of the same standard from a recognised University. The candidate must have secured admission or at least have applied for admission to a reputable University or Institution abroad. Advertisements announcing the scholarship are released in January and final interviews and selections are held in July every year.Further details with regards to rules and regulations governing the scholarship awards can be acquired from the Trust office in Mumbai

2. Mahindra All India Talent Scholarships: The K. C. Mahindra
Education Trust established Mahindra All India Talent Scholarships in 1995. This scheme envisages awarding scholarships to Indian students with good scholastic records belonging to lower income group families. The students should have passed S.S.C. / H.S.C. or equivalent examinations and have secured admission in government or any other recognised Polytechnic Institute for Diploma Courses in India. The Trustees established this scheme primarily to encourage and support young students from rural and urban areas to pursue job-oriented Diploma Courses at recognized Polytechnics. Under this scheme, scholarships of Rs. 5000/- per annum are awarded to selected students to study at various polytechnics in India. The scholarship can be awarded for a maximum period of 3 years. During June / July every year advertisements are released throughout India inviting applications for the scholarships. To make it easier for the selected candidates to appear for the final interviews for the scholarship award, the candidate can apply to any of the centres, indicating the most convenient centre where he / she can appear if selected by the Trust for the final interview.

3.Mahindra search For Talent Scholarships:
To enthuse and reward excellence in academics the Trustees instituted this scholarship scheme in 1983. The scheme so far has been introduced in 35 Education Institutions in India. The Trust awards the students obtaining the highest aggregate marks based on the annual year - end promotion examination.

4. Mahindra Search for Talent Scholarships-Honour Scholarships:
The Trust introduced Honour Scholarship awards in 1988 applicable to all institutions where Mahindra Search for Talent Scholarship scheme has already been established. The student, who receives Mahindra Search for Talent Scholarship more than once, is awarded this Honour Scholarship - which consists of Rs. 5000/- as a cash award and a citation from the Trust.
