 Himachal Pradesh : Science Promotion Awards for School Teachers

Detail: The State Council for Science, Technology & Environment, Himachal Pradesh invites nomination for the Science Promotion Awards for school teachers every year through advertisements in newspapers.  Eligibility for this are:
 1. Any teacher working in any school of HP or retired who has developed/propagated innovative science teaching aids/worked for science promotion/popularisation activities in the state during last five years.
2. Any teacher who has received any of the above awards will not be eligible for these awards again.

 Kerala : STEC Awards

Detail: 1) S&T Award for Science Books :
To encourage Science writing in Malayalam, STEC has introduced a scheme of giving S&T awards for Science Books in Malayalam in three categories Viz. Popular Science, Children's Science, In depth Studies.
 Each category carried one award each worth Rs.5,000/- and merit certificate.

2) Science Journalism Award :STEC gives 'Science Journalism Award' to the best entry appeared in the Malayalam Periodicals on science subjects in a Calender year. This award is meant for encouraging journalists and scientists writing popular articles in Malayalam. 
The award carries a cash prize of Rs.5,000/- and a Merit Certificate.

 Tamil Nadu : TANSA Award
Ministry/Department/Organisation: The TamilNadu State Council for Science and Technology
Detail: The TamilNadu State Council for Science and Technology recognizes every year the outstanding research work / skill/ talent acquired by Scientists and Technologists in the following disciplines:
(i) Agricultural Sciences;
(ii) Biological Sciences;
(iii) Chemical Sciences;
(iv) Environmental Sciences including Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean and Planetary Sciences; 
(v) Engineering and Technology;
(vi) Home/ Social Sciences;
(vii) Mathematical Sciences;
(viii) Medical Sciences; 
(ix) Physical Sciences and 
(x) Veterinary Sciences 
by an award called `Tamilnadu Scientist Award? (TANSA). The Award will be bestowed on a person who, has made conspicuously important and outstanding contribution to human knowledge and progress ? fundamental or applied in the particular field of the endeavour. The TANSA will be awarded on the basis of research contributions made/ skill/ talent acquired in TamilNadu during the ten years preceding the year of award. Eligibility Criteria: The applicant should be native of TamilNadu engaged in research/ innovation/ feat in any of the above fields of specialization and worked in TamilNadu during the ten preceding years.

Details of the Award: The award carries a cash of Rs.10,000/- and a citation. The nominating authorities are (i) Vice Chancellor of an University (ii) Deans/ Directors/ Chairman of the faculty concerned (iii) Directors of national organizations such as CLRI, CECRI and other research organizations (Public & Private) situated in the State of Tamilnadu .(iv) Directors of the Technical/ Medical/ Collegiate/ School Education/ Head of the Institution (v) Directors of reputed industries such as BHEL, SPIC, NLC, MRL, IMTI, IHH etc The nominating authorities are to verify the claims made by the applicants before nominating their candidature for the consideration of TANSA.

TamilNadu :Young Women Scientist Award
Ministry/Department/Organisation: The Science City Chennai ( An Autonomous organisation established by the Govt. of  TamilNadu )
Detail:  Tamilnadu Young Women Scientist Award each of the value of Rs.25, 000/(Rupees Twenty Five Thousand Only) will be awarded annually in the following disciplines
i) Agricultural Sciences 
ii) Life Sciences 
iii) Chemical Sciences
iv) Physical Sciences
v) Environmental Sciences including Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean and Planetary Sciences 
vi) Engineering& Technology
vii) Home and Social Sciences 
viii) Mathematical Sciences 
ix) Medical Sciences and Native Medicine and
x) Veterinary Sciences. Purpose:  For recognizing outstanding research work skill / talent acquired in fields of science and technology of Women Scientist in Tamil Nadu.
Eligibility : Women Scientists, native of TamilNadu engaged in research / innovation feat in any field of science and technology in TamilNadu, below (or) 40years of age are eligible to apply for The TamilNadu Young Women Scientist Award.
Selection : The Award shall be bestowed on a person, who in the opinion of the Science City Chennai, has made conspicuously important and outstanding contribution to human knowledge and progress fundamental or applied in the particular field of the endeavour. The Award shall be given on the basis of research contributions made /skill / talent acquired in TamilNadu during the last ten years.
Nominations :The Science City Chennai invites nominations every year from the following categories of people who are authorized to nominate as per regulations governing the TamilNadu Young Women Scientist Award.
i) Vice Chancellors of Universities, Deans of Sciences, Agriculture, Engineering & Technology, Medical Faculties and Veterinary Sciences
ii) Directors / Deans of Faculties of Institutions deemed to be of University status
iii) Directors of national organizations such as CLRI, CECRI, IMS and other research organizations (Public & Private) situated in the State of TamilNadu
iv) Directors of Technical / Medical / Collegiate / School Education /Head of Institution.
v) Directors of reputed Industries such as BHEL, SPIC, NLC, MRL, IMTI, IHH etc. Nominations from individuals sponsoring their own names or of others are not acceptable.

Uttar Pradesh :Science Awards

Detail: Council of Science & Technology has launched a scheme called "Science Awards Scheme" to honour eminent scientists either born in Uttar Pradesh or who are working in Uttar Pradesh for last 10 years continuously. The following awards are proposed to be given by CST, U.P 1 Vigyan Gaurav Samman (One): This award will be given to one scientist for his /her outstanding contribution in the field of science writing , scientific research or special scientific achievements or development of technology useful on National Level. The award consists of cash Rs.One lakh, a memento and a citation.

2. Vigyan Ratna Samman (Two): These awards will be given to two scientists for their continuous contribution to science, special scientific achievements or innovation, special science writing or out standing technology development. Each award consists of cash Rs 50,000/- ,a memento and a citation.

3. Young scientist Awards (Five): These awards will be given to five young scientists in the age group of 18 to 35 years for their outstanding scientific contribution and technology development. Each award consists of cash Rs 25,000/-, a memento and a citation.

4.Science teacher Award: Five awards of Rs 25,000/- will be given to the Science teachers of Secondary Schools for highest educational procedures and new educational technologies

5. Innovation award : Five awards of Rs25000/- will be given to the Innovators ,who has developed /invented any new inventions/technological method, traditional medicinal system, higher crop species, tools and instruments, technical development in different machines, gadgets and energy conservations etc.
