Dr. B.C. Roy National Award
Ministry/Department/Organisation: Medical Council of India
Detail: The Medical Council of India instituted Dr. B.C. Roy National Award Fund in 1962 to perpetuate his memory. "The Fund" is registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860. "The Fund" invites nominations under the following categories as provided under the Memorandum of Association of the Society. The Award is of the value of Rs.1,00,000/- and a Silver Salver in each of the following categories.  Statesmanship of the Highest Order in our country 
Medical man-cum-Statesman. 
Eminent Medical Person.
Eminent person in Philosophy 
Eminent person in Arts. . The award may be made to individual or to an institution. 

Other Awards are: 

  • Oration Under Dr. B.C. Roy National Award Fund: The value of the oration award is Rs. 15,000/- and Medal Nomination are invited for consideration for this award.
  • Dr. B.C. Roy National Award : To recognize the best talents in encouraging the Development of specialities in Different branches in Medicine. The Management Committee of the Dr. B.C. Roy National Award Fund registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860, has decided to give award in recognition, of the best talents in encouraging the Development of Specialities in different branches of Medicine The value of each award is Rs.15,000/- 
  • Dr. B.C. Roy National Award to recognize the merit of an Eminent Medical Teachers. Management Committee of the Dr. B.C. Roy National Award Fund registered under the Societies Registration Act. XXI of 1860, has decided to give award to Eminent teachers in different specialities. The value of the award is Rs. 15,000/- and a medal for each awardees.
  •  Dr. B.C. Roy National Award - to recognize the outstanding service in the field of Socio-Medical Relief. The Management Committee of the Dr. B.C. Roy National Award Fund registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860, has decided to give award in recognition of the outstanding service in the field of Socio-Medical Relief and in the establishment of the Medical organisations and Medical institutions. The value of the award is Rs. 15,000/- and a Medal. It has further been decided that services rendered towards leprosy, Blindness, Physically handicapped, relief during natural calamities, Community Health, Malaria, Family Planning and Nutrition will also fall under the category of Socio-Medical Relief.
  •  Dr. B.C. Roy Research Projects - To give aid or Assistance to Research Project. The Management Committee of Dr. B.C. Roy National Award Fund at its meeting held on 29.6.95 decided to give aid or assistance to deserving research projects for a period of two years to those institutions/persons who are carrying on or intend to carry out research in medical field.

Hari Om Ashram Award

Detail: The Management Committee of the Hari Om Ashram Alembic Research Award Fund registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860 has decided to invite the nomination for Hari Om Ashram Alembic Research Awards under the following categories:-

Basic Research in Medical Sciences, Clinical Research , Operational Research .
The value of each award is Rs. 10,000/-.

Nomination : Nomination can be made by the colleagues and teachers of candidate, Civil leaders, Professional Societies or Established experts in various industries or other fields. The Nominee should not be related either by blood, marriage or adoption to the person making the nomination. Indian Nationals are only eligible for the award. All nominations be forwarded to this office latest by 31st December of each year. The consent of the nominee may also be obtained before forwarding the nomination papers.

Silver Jubilee Research Award
Ministry/Department/Organisation: Medical Council of India
Detail: The Medical Council of India, which is a Statutory Body under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 created the 'Medical Council of India - Silver Jubilee Research Award Fund' and the same has been registered under the Societies Act of 1860 and is being managed by the Management Committee. The Management Committee of the Fund decided to invite the nomination for Silver Jubilee Research Award under the following categories. To give award to person for his original and outstanding work in the field of medical and allied science done in India.
To give aid or assistance to project in medical colleges/medical institutions/organisations engaged in the development of medical education and to help medical research.
To Grant Travel Fellowship.

The value of the award is Rs.1,00,000/- and salver for category-1 and Rs.50,000/- each for categories 2 and 3 respectively.

AIOS Awards
Ministry/Department/Organisation: All India Ophthalmological Society
Detail: Any Member of the Society who is eligible for the Award shall be entitled to be considered for the same. If he is a Member of any Committee discussing the selection of Award, he will withdraw from the discussion at that time. All Awards shall be once in four years/two years/ annually as provided in the bye-laws. No Awards shall be given to the same person twice. Recipient of the Award shall be selected and recommended by the Scientific Committee, which may seek the opinion of a referee if considered necessary by the committee. All recipients of the awards shall present their work at the next conference. All Awards will be named uniformly

ISG Awards
Ministry/Department/Organisation: Indian Society of Gastroenterology 
Detail: 
  • SG-Pfizer Oration: The applicant should have done research in any branch of Gastroenterology, as evidenced by at least 20 publications in recognized journals. The publications should be full reports with references; summaries in conference proceedings or abstracts of presentations are not acceptable. The work should have been done in India as far as possible. If a suitable awardees is not found, the award may be given to a person whose work has significance for Indian conditions.
  • ISG-Abbott Oration :This oration is in the field of parasitology/ gastrointestinal infection or nutrition as related to Gastroenterology. The applicant should have done research in these areas as evidenced by at least 20 publications in the form of full reports with references; summaries in conference proceedings or abstracts of presentations are not acceptable.
  • ISG-Alkem Om Prakash Memorial Award :This award will be given to a gastroenterologist member of the ISG who is below the age of 40 years. The award is based on the 10 best research papers published by the applicant. The application may be submitted by the prospective awardees or by a proposer who should be a member of the Society.
  • ISG-Olympus Mitra Endoscopy Award: This award to promote continuing education in the field of endoscopy, is given to a senior member of the Society skilled in endoscopy who will visit one or more centres to enhance knowledge in the field. The awardees will be selected based on experience in endoscopy (as judged from the biodata and publications) and the centres proposed by him. The application may be submitted by the prospective awardees or by a proposer who should be a member of the Society.
  • ISG-Dr P N Chuttani Oration: Nominations are invited for this prestigious oration. The nominee should have a distinguished academic career and should have made outstanding contributions in Gastroenterology or related fields. The awardees will be selected on the basis of the bio-data. In case no nomination is received or no suitable awardees is found, the Scientific Committee along with a representative of the Trust will have the right to nominate any person who fulfils these criteria.
  • ISG-Dr S R Naik Memorial Award :This award will be given to an Indian scientist for the best published work in the field of diseases of the digestive tract and liver, and other sciences as related to these areas .Selection Committee for the award will consist of two representatives of the ISG and one person from among the faculty of the Department of Gastroenterology at the SGPGI. The award carries a certificate and a cash of Rs. 20,000.
  • ISG-Dr S R Naik Travel Fellowships :These fellowships are aimed at encouraging exchange of postgraduate students (DM/MCh/DNBE) between different academic departments imparting training in gastroenterology, surgical gastroenterology and paediatric gastroenterology. These will be awarded to postgraduate students in the above fields to enable them to visit another academic department for training. The fellowship will be tenable for a maximum period of one month.
  • Other Awards? 
    Young Investigator Award for best paper (age below 40 years). Two prizes of Rs 20,000 each will be given to the best papers in clinical and basic research.
    Award for best paper in Plenary Session. Two prizes of Rs 30,000 each will be given to the best papers in clinical and basic research. 
    Award for best posters: two prizes of Rs 10,000 each.

ISMS Awards
Ministry/Department/Organisation: Indian Society For Medical Statistics
Detail: 
  • Professor B.G.Prasad Award :
    The award is aimed at promoting application of statistics in epidemiology. It will be given once a year to the best paper published in a scientific journal during the two calendar years preceding the year of annual conference on any topic related to statistics applied to epidemiology. Papers published in proceedings are not eligible for the award. The awardees is given a Gold Medal and a Scroll of honour. The award is presented by the President of the Society during the annual conference.
  • Smt. Suraj Kali Jain Award : 
    It is given once a year to the best paper on any subject related to medical statistics published by a young scientist in a scientific journal during three preceding years from the year of the annual conference. Papers published in proceedings are not eligible for the award. The awardees is given a Gold Medal and a Scroll of honour. The award is presented by the President of the Society during the annual conference. 
  • Dr.R.N. Srivastava Award:
    This award has been instituted by Dr. R.N. Srivastava, the Founder President of the Society, in the year 1993. The award shall be given to the author of the best unpublished paper on medical statistics presented in the annual conference of the Society. The awardees is given a Gold Medal and a Scroll of honour. The award is presented by the President of the Society during the annual conference. 
  • Professor P.V.Sukhatme Award:
     The award will be given to the author of best published paper on applied statistics in general, with special reference to nutrition, health, medical or biological sciences. The paper should have appeared in a reputed journal during the two calendar years preceding the year of the annual conference of the Society. Papers published in the proceedings and papers accepted but not yet published will not be considered for the award. The awardees is given a Gold Medal and a Scroll of honour. The award is presented by the President of the Society during the annual conference.
  • Prof. S.K. Bhattacharya Oration award:
    This award is given every year, if suitable entries are received by the Society. The awardees has to deliver an Oration-lecture on a suitable topic during the annual conference of ISMS. The award consists of a cash prize of Rs.1,500/- and a Scroll of honour. This award is presented by the Society's President in a session held for the purpose during the annual conference of ISMS.
  • Prof. P.P. Talwar Memento:
    This Memento has been instituted in 1997 by Dr. P.P. Talwar, former Professor at the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi as an act of appreciation to the Organising  Secretary and the Institution, hosting Annual Conference of this Society.
