Awards for Excellence in Electronics
Ministry/Department/Organisation: Department of Information Technology
Detail: To encourage and publicise the achievements of leaders in the field of electronics, the Department of Information Technology instituted a scheme of Annual Awards for Excellence in different sectors of electronics in 1990. Separate awards are given in the following areas:
  • Consumer Electronics 
  • Computer and Related Products 
  • Professional Electronics (Instrumentation Communication & Strategic Electronic) 
  • Electronic Components and Materials
  • Computer Software ? Large Companies 
  • Computer Software - SMEs
  • R&D in Electronics
  • Human Resource Development in Information Technology 

The award for ?R&D in Electronics? is open to industry, academic institutions and R&D organizations. The award for Excellence in ?Human Resource Development in Information Technology? is open only for the best run institution (?O? and ?A? levels) in the DOEACC scheme. In ?Computer Software?, there are separate awards for large companies and SMEs. The qualifying criteria for consideration of the Awards is last three years performance. The overall performance is measured through quantitative and qualitative parameters. 
For each category, there are two prizes. The first prize a Silver Cup and second prize ? a Silver Plate.

Dewang Mehta Awards for Innovation in IT
Ministry/Department/Organisation: Department of Information Technology
Detail: Objectives The award is for significant contributions / encouragement for innovations / promotions in the field of Information Technology in India , or bring focus to India through his work in India or abroad. 
General Regulations : This award is named after late Shri  Dewang Mehta and was instituted in 2001. The award is being given each year for significant contributions in innovations in the field of Information Technology. The work in consideration should have made, or has the potential to make, a significant impact on national development, or bring fame to the country. 
Number of Awards & Value :There will be one award each year with a value of Rs. 5 lakhs. 
Eligibility : Any citizen of India engaged in carrying out innovations in Information Technology sector would be eligible for this award. There is no age limit. The award would normally be given for work primarily done within India and which is of relevance to India either for domestic use or exports or in bringing fame to the country.

Computer Literacy Excellence Awards For Schools

Detail: In order to promote quality education in IT, DIT has launched a scheme for annually awarding at National and State levels best school in Computer Literacy to promote excellence and learning of IT at the school level. The scheme for awards is advertised through DIT Website, Newspaper as well as through letters to state govt.

CSI IT Awards
Ministry/Department/Organisation: Computer Society of India
Detail:  The Society has instituted National IT awards to encourage and promote the spread of IT. CSI National IT Awards in three separate categories to recognize "significant Contributions to the promotion of IT applications". These awards are categorized in Best Software, Best Shrink Wrapped Software and Best IT Usage. It has recently started an award to recognize the "Best Quality project in the country" as well. CSI National "Young IT Professional Awards" to identify, recognize and encourage outstanding achievements of young IT professionals. CSI Award on "e-Governance" to give recognition to a Central or State govt. or any of its department which has made a significant impact in the usage of IT. 
  • CSI Awards( Fellowship Awards )
    The Society instituted in the year 1979, the Fellowship Awards to honour distinguished personalities who have served the Society with their dedication, devotion and faith to those who have excelled in fields related to the Society. The Society has instituted a number of CSI Awards to commemorate the distinguished personalities or their dear ones, who have been actively associated with the CSI, with a view to reward members who excel in one form or the other. These awards are given during the Annual Convention of CSI.
  • Dr. Virendra Gupta Memorial Award: (Best Student Paper Postgraduate) 
    This is awarded to the best student paper presented at Annual CSI Convention every year. Dr. Virendra Gupta was the Chairman of Delhi Chapter during 1974-76, North Regional Representative during 1977-79 and Member of Nomination Committee during 1980-81. 
  • Raizada Memorial Award: (Best Article) 
    This Award instituted by the Delhi Chapter is presented at the Annual CSI Convention to the writer of the best article appearing in CSI Communications during the financial year. Mr. Raizada was the founder member of Delhi Chapter and its Secretary from 1970-73 and Editor of CSI Newsletter from 1973-78.
  • Anita Khanna Memorial Award: The award is given to the student standing 1st in the exams conducted by CSI. 
  • Best Student Paper Contest (Undergraduate) This is awarded to the best Student Paper presented at the Annual CSI Convention every year. 
  • Kewal Dubey Award (Best Paper on Industry) Best Chapter Award This award is given at national/regional level to the best chapter for the year. 
  • Best Student Branch ward This award is given region wise to the best student branch for the year.
  • Best Chapter Newsletter Award This award is given region wise to the best Newsletter of the chapter.
  • Vandna Goyal Award: (Female candidate scoring highest marks in NSE)
